What things have people already put in bottles?

A great many different objects have been put in bottles by different people. Of course, there are the well-known ships and other models in bottles (see links page) but also many everyday objects. Here are some of the favourites. Remember, though, it's not just what's in the bottle but the configuration too which contributes to the impossibility of it all.

  • Packs of cards with bolts through them
  • Padlocks and keys

  • Baseballs
  • Rubik's cubes

The rules...

Because all bottle makers are different I cannot promise that all bottles comply with these but most makers agree that the following should apply:

  • Bottle must be undamaged
  • Items inside must be usable (eg rubik's cube works)
